This 'Very Latest Photography' section documents, as it implies, the most recent photographs I have taken to add to this site.

A visit to the Newark Beer Festival not only gave me an excuse to visit friends, but also to travel up and back by train. Photos uploaded here feature Kings Cross, Newark North Gate, but also a former rail route that used to be a goods line that merged with the Eastern mainline just south of Newark North Gate station.

Currently Kings Cross is undergoing a great deal of refurbishment work, with a new platform being built adjacent to York Road, to the east of the station along with a new concourse that will no doubt be cordoned off and rebuilt in the coming months. I was shocked though, to discover, that the bridge between platforms 1 & 8 has been removed. As I understand it, the bridge is not being refurbished, but is being replaced, meaning that a significant feature of the station has now been consigned to history.

Photos of Charing Cross and Waterloo stations (taken from the London Eye) and a trip to visit the closing Old Oak Common depot (via London Euston) taken during mid-late April have been moved to the 2009 Photography section.
